Course Description

The NPORS Crane/Lift Supervisor Course is designed to provide learners with the basic knowledge and practical skills involved in operating as a Crane/Lift Supervisor to the NPORS (National Plant Operators Registration Scheme) standard.

Delegates will gain a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as a crane/lift supervisor.

Course modules will cover the following:
Legislation, regulations and Codes of Practice relating to lifting duties
Safe systems of plant operation including method statements
Personal responsibilities
Cranes: types and terms
Crane documentation
Duty charts, crane stability and safety devices
Crane appreciation
British Standard 1721
Covers role of crane supervisor
Covers role of appointed persons
Preparing an area, with exclusion zones
LOLER and PUWER

This course is aimed at those who have have been tasked with the duty of a crane supervisor as defined by the appointed person.
